Um auf die Situation verfolgter Christen weltweit aufmerksam zu machen, hat das päpstliche Hilfswerk Kirche in Not die Aktion "Red Wednesday" (Roter Mittwoch) ins Leben gerufen. In Deutschland und weltweit wird rund um den dritten Mittwoch im November auf das Schicksal verfolgter Christen aufmerksam gemacht. Zum Beispiel mit sogenannten Abenden der Zeugen.
