Heute feiert die Kirche den heiligen Papst Pius X. (1835–1914) – vom Bauernsohn zum Hirten der Weltkirche.
Sein Wahlspruch „Alles in Christus erneuern“ prägte sein Pontifikat: Erneuerung von Liturgie, Kirchenrecht und Bibelwissenschaft, entschlossener Kampf gegen den Modernismus und eine tiefe Sorge um das Heil der Seelen.
